Who Feels It?

what happens when a tsunami hits a mountain?
who feels it?
water or the earth?

a raging river will wither away the strongest stone.
but immovable rocks will change the course of a stream.

water and earth.
what is one without the other?

i'm sure the sand along the coast still gets excited
for every rolling kiss from an ocean wave.

i'd like to believe that the desiccated Serengeti
yearns for the sky to pour its elixir. 

maybe the wind we feel is nothing more than a sigh of relief from the sea
that has finally found stability in the delta.

water and earth.
what is one without the other?

water doesn't just flow.
it changes the surface of the earth.
the earth doesn't just change.
it cradles the waterfalls and massages the lakes.

but still, what happens when a tsunami hits a mountain?
who feels it?
